Commerce Management Group is a Northern Ontario- based consulting firm with a diverse and dynamic team of dedicated professionals. We offer a full range of business and management consulting services. We work for a diverse group of clients in the public and private sector.

We understand the needs of the agencies responsible for economic development. All of our staff have worked on successful economic development projects in the communities along Highway 11. Previous similar work completed by the company includes an Economic Impact Study on Kirkland Lake of the local sawmill and the development of the business plan, including an economic impact analysis of the TCI project in Kirkland Lake.

Study Director: David Shaw
David Shaw is a Management Consultant with Commerce Management Group in Timmins. He brings with him over 15 years of experience in economic and community development in Northern Ontario. He is presently on leave from the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines.

He has been the Executive Director of a development agency, Director of Project Development for a native cultural agency and a development specialist with MNDM for over 8 years. From the Timmins office of both the MNDM and the Ministry of Citizenship and Culture, David worked with communities along the Highway 11 Corridor from Mattawa to Hearst.

David also brings experience at the corporate level with the Provincial Government, having been Executive Assistant to the Deputy Minister of Northern Development and a Corporate Policy Advisor with responsibility for ensuring ministry compliance with the Ministry of Environment Environmental Bill of Rights and in providing corporate support to the Notre Development Corporation Adams Mine Site Project.

More recently, Mr. Shaw has been the Study Director for CMG projects in the Kirkland Lake area including the study on the Economic Impact of the Tembec Sawmill on the Kirkland Lake economy and the Elk Lake Eco Resource Centre.
