Saglek – Project Management
The Bennett team planned every facet of the operation down to the smallest detail considering that everything from earth moving equipment to camp facilities, environmental monitoring equipment, trucks and crushers had to be brought in by ship, set up then operated. A full-service laboratory was created through this process marking another first in remote site projects. All this was to be accomplished without causing further harm to the environment. There is, however, another side of the Saglek experience that is not measured in charts and graphs but in the human experience of working with the Inuit of the region. Perched along the northern tip of the Labrador coast along the 52nd parallel encircled by the rugged Torngat Mountain Range, Saglek has been home to the Inuit for more than 4,000 years.
